SnapshotThe Kusunda Area Operation includes four coal mines: East Bassuriya OC, Bassuriya UG (suspended), Gondudih Khas-Kusunda Colliery (GKKC) OC, Godhur Mixed (OC and UG) mines (suspended), which are part of Cluster VI according to the BCCL cluster concept for EIA-EMP preparation and grant of Environmental clearances (EC).

The Amalgamated Dhansar Industry Colliery (ADIC) OC, Kusunda OC, Alkusa UG (suspended), Ena OC are part of Cluster VII and are also under the administrative control of the Kusunda Area of BCCL.

According to the annual BCCL Grade Notification Book, as of 2025, no underground mining work is ongoing in the mines of the Kusunda Area. Mining is being carried out using opencast methods.

New Godhur Kusunda OC mine has been established following the amalgamation of the Kusunda OC mine and Godhur OC mine.
