SnapshotKusunda Area is one of the 12 operational areas of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a subsidiary company of Coal India Limited (CIL).

Kusunda Area is located in Jharia coalfield, Jharkhand state of India and consists of mines, which include in the Clusters VI and VII of BCCL mines.

The Cluster VI consists of four coal mines: East Bassuriya OC, Bassuriya UG, Gondudih Khas-Kusunda Colliery (GKKC), Godhur Mixed Mines (OC and UG).

The Cluster consists of mines within Kusunda Area, Bastacolla Area and PB Area of BCCL. Coal mines namely Amalgamated Dhansar Industry Colliery (ADIC) OC, Kusunda OCP, Alkusa UG (suspended), Ena OCP are under the administrative control of Kusunda Area.

Currently, no underground mining work is going on in the mines of Kusunda Area. Mining is being carried out by opencast method.
