February 5, 2025 (Australian Mining) - Bundarra Contracting has been awarded a run-of-mine (ROM) loading contract at Liontown’s Kathleen Valley lithium operation in Western Australia. The scope of the contract includes maintaining ore feed from the ROM pad into the primary crusher. It also includes general earthworks like road grading, dust suppression and rehabilitation work. February 4, 2025 (IM - International Mining) - Perenties Limited has announced that its underground mining business, Barminco, has signed a contract to undertake underground development and ground support for Barrick-operated Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) at the Goldrush project in Nevada, USA. NGM is a joint venture (JV) between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Corporation (38.5%) who combined their assets across Nevada in 2019. In total, the NGM JV represents the largest gold-producing complex in the world and contains 10 underground mines and 12 surface mines. February 3, 2025 (Australian Mining) - BHP has awarded a contract worth approximately $40 million to support the proposed expansion of its Olympic Dam copper smelter and refinery facilities in South Australia. A joint venture between Fluor Australia and Hatch have been granted the engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) contract following engagement with BHP’s major projects, procurement, commercial and Copper South Australia teams. The contract will be executed in stages as BHP progresses towards a final investment decision on the smelter and refinery expansion, which is expected in the first half of the 2026–27 financial year (FY27)

The contract extension officially commenced in January 2025 and will see Thiess continue delivering full mining services such as load and haul, drill and blast, and pit dewatering. January 30, 2025 (Australian Mining) - Barminco has extended its contract with Regis Resources by another 12 months, allowing the Perenti subsidiary to continue delivering underground mining services at the Duketon gold operation in Western Australia. The underground mining contract, which has been extended to March 30 2028, is valued at approximately $180 million. It covers underground development, production, and support services at the Rosemont and Garden Well underground mines within Duketon.
