SnapshotThe Williamson mine is renowned for producing beautifully rounded white diamonds and distinctive “bubble-gum” pink diamonds. Following the closure of Argyle, Williamson has become one of the most reliable sources of pink diamonds globally.

Williamson restarted production in July 2023 ahead of schedule, followed by a steady ramp-up through the Year. This enabled access to higher-grade ore. The Williamson grade profile is not homogenous and is governed by the rate of mining and stripping and which areas can be opened up for production at any given time.

In May 2025, the mine was sold to a private company. Since then, detailed information about the asset has not been publicly available.

On 14 May 2025, Petra Diamonds completed the sale of its entire shareholding in the entity holding its interest in Williamson Diamonds Limited, together with all related shareholder loans, to Pink Diamonds Investments Limited.

Pink Diamond Investment is a Tanzanian entity affiliated with Taifa Group. Taifa now assumes full ownership of an asset. Pink Diamonds Investments, backed by Taifa Group, is well-positioned to manage the mine.
