Coal from the Jax Mine is processed through the QCoal Northern Hub infrastructure facility and railed to Abbot Point Coal Terminal.

QCoal wants to expand the Jax mine by 500 hectares, representing a 53.8% increase in its current Category A area and to revise the layout and sequencing of Jax's mining plan to reflect recent exploration programs that have led to an updated model of its underlying coal resource.

The expansion of the Jax mine is subject to approval from the Queensland government.
