Jagannathpur mineThe Jagannathpur Sub Block is situated in the northern part of Bishrampur Coalfield (i.e north of Mahan River) in Pratappur and Rajpur tehsil of Surajpur and Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh State Respectively.The Block measure 6.086 sq km. the limits of the block are defined by the following boundaries. North: An East-West to NE – SW trending fault no F6 – F6. South: An East-West trending line 200 m south of boreholes CMBM – 225,228 & 229. East: The eastern bank of Gohangar Nallah in the major part and the 37200 m grid line near southern boundary. West: Ambikapur – Pratappur road in the southern part and southern and eastern sides of the Jagannathpur reservior in the northern part.Bhatgaon mineTwo workable seams, namely Upper Pathpahari and Lower Pathpahari seams encounter in this area. Parting between the seams varies from 3 m to 7 m and thus seams area contiguous in nature. Only one significant fault of a maximum throw of 15 m is present in the property. The nature of the roof is sandstone and shale in Upper Pathpahari and sandstone in lower Pathpahari. The nature of floor in both the seams is sandstone.Shiwani mineThe area is covered by road breaker formation under this cover of soil and alluvium at places.
