SnapshotThe Ammaroo Phosphate Project is one of the world’s largest undeveloped phosphate resources.

In April 2025, the project reached a major milestone with the granting of key productive mineral leases by the Finocchiaro Government, positioning Ammaroo for development as a globally significant source of phosphate rock concentrate.

Verdant Minerals Ltd has referred a proposed action that comprises alterations to the Ammaroo Phosphate Project. The original project involved mining and beneficiation of ore to produce phosphate rock concentrate.

The proposed action involves the development of downstream processing facilities for production of ammonium phosphate fertilisers from the phosphate rock concentrate onsite, requiring the construction of a phosphoric acid plant, sulfuric acid plant, ammonia plant, granulation plant, and changes to amenity, storage, export/import and service infrastructure.

Summary:

Ammaroo is a stratabound, sedimentary phosphate deposit located on a Cambrian shoreline of the Georgina Basin.

The mineralisation within the greater Ammaroo area (Figure 2-1) extends 40 km and trends approximately east-west with an average thickness of around 7.0 metres and an average northsouth width of approximately 3.5 kilometres. The mineralisation is flat-lying to gently undulating with a slight general inclination towards the south. It is overlain by between 1 – 56 m of overburden with an average depth to mineralisation of around 23 m.

Geological interpretation
• Geological setting and mineralisation controls of the Ammaroo mineralisation have been confidently established from drill hole logging.
• Model A is based on interpreted mineralised domain wireframes capturing zones of continuous mineralisation grading more than approximately 10% P2O5 with a comparatively small internal higher grade domain interpreted at nominally 23% P2O5 cut-off.
• Model B is based on mineralised domains capturing zones of continuous mineralisation grading more than approximately 5% P2O5. These domains comprise a main zone, and a subsidiary upper zone at Limestone Bore which contributes around 2% of model estimates.
