SnapshotThe Nueva Rosita included the Olivo underground mine and a coal enrichment plant. Olivo closed in 2006, and the enrichment plant in 2017.

Coal operations were suspended in July 2019. In February 2020, the company returned the Olivo mine to the Mexican government to aid efforts to find miners lost in 2006. The concession was officially returned in September 2020, and in August 2021, the land and buildings were transferred to the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE).

Currently, Nueva Rosita is not producing coal, and its future remains uncertain. No updates have been provided since 2023.
