Snapshot	Leinster Mine is a part of Nickel West Operation. Leinster mine complex consists of Venus sub-level caving operation, B11 block caving operation, Camelot open-pit mine, Rocky’s Reward open-pit mine. Nickel sulphide ore is mined at the Cliffs and Leinster underground mines and processed through a concentrator and dryer at Leinster. The Nickel West Operation and the West Musgrave project, transitioned into temporary suspension at the end of the first half of FY2025. The decision to temporarily suspend Western Australia Nickel, announced on 11 July 2024, follows oversupply in the global nickel market. The BHP intends to review the decision to temporarily suspend Western Australia Nickel by February 2027.

Summary:

Steeply dipping disseminated and massive textured nickel-sulphide mineralisation associated with metamorphosed ultramafic lava flows and intrusions.

BHP Billiton’s Leinster Nickel Operation (LNO) is located 600 km north-east of Perth in the Eastern Goldfields Region of Western Australia. The LNO deposits are situated within the Wiluna Greenstone Belt and the orebodies are hosted in Komatite Ultramafic lava flows.
