  • Vein / narrow vein

Summary:

The Alpamarca-Rio Pallanga project is a deposit of lead, zinc, silver and copper veins. It is located 4,700 meters above sea level in the Santa Bárbara district of Carhuacayan, Yauli Province, Junin Region. The project consists of 2,100 hectares of concessions in an area with significant geological potential.

Ten kilometers from Alpamarca is the old Rio Pallanga mine, a deposit with significant potential at depth and in the lateral extensions of the vein in the explored area. The Rio Pallanga resources, which contain high grades of silver, will support ongoing operations at Alpamarca and provide a solid basis for development of projects at Colquihuarmi and Carhuacayan, located 14 and 25 kilometers to the southwest, respectively.

  • Longhole stoping

Summary:

The Alpamarca operating unit is located in the Santa Bárbara district of Carhuacayán, Yauli province and Junín department, 182 km east of Lima.

This unit began operations in April 2014 and is made up of the mine Río Pallanga underground (suspended), the Alpamarca open pit, a concentrator plant called Alpamarca and the Romina - Puagjanca project.

Mining activities suspended since 2015 at Río Pallanga. Operations were carried out within the Pallanga 3 concession and continued with preparation, development and production of the Ramal 1 and San José veins. Long-hole drilling was used in narrow veins, where very good results were obtained in controlling mining widths. In addition, there was excellent control of the supports using bolts and mesh. Finally, the auxiliary drainage and ventilation systems for deepening the mine were completed.

In 2019, the production of ore from pits was 552 thousand tons. Also was extracted 7.62 million tons of waste that includes preparation areas, reaching a striping ratio of 13.8.

In 2019, the Alpamarca concentrator plant processed 950 thousand tons of polymetallic mineral from the Alpamarca pit and stockpiles in a stable manner. The Alpamarca plant had a good metallurgical performance, with metallurgical recoveries of 84.9% for zinc, 92.1% for lead and 88.7% for silver; compared to 2018 where recoveries of 84.6% were obtained for zinc, 91.6% for lead and 88.7% for silver.
