The Kisanfu (KFM) copper-cobalt deposit, located in the Lualaba Province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), is classified as a sediment-hosted stratiform copper-cobalt deposit. These deposits are characterized by their formation within sedimentary basins, where mineralization occurs in stratiform layers. In such deposits, copper and cobalt minerals are typically disseminated within sedimentary rocks, often associated with organic material or evaporitic sequences. The Central African Copperbelt, where KFM is located, is renowned for hosting numerous significant sediment-hosted stratiform copper-cobalt deposits.
