Summary:
Koolyanobbing is a collective term for the ore deposits at Koolyanobbing, Mount Jackson and Windarling. There are approximately 70 miles separating the three mining areas. Banded iron formations host the mineralization, which is predominately hematite and goethite. Each deposit is characterized with different chemical and physical attributes and, in order to achieve customer product quality, ore in varying quantities from each deposit must be blended together.
The mineralization at the Koolyanobbing operations is predominantly hematite and goethite replacements in greenstone-hosted banded iron formations. Individual deposits tend to be small with complex ore-waste contact relationships. The reserves at the Koolyanobbing operations are derived from 10 separate mineral deposits distributed over a 70 mile operating radius.
Summary:
Yilgarn Hub include the mining of iron ore deposits at the Koolyanobbing Range, Windarling Range, Mt Jackson Range and the Deception Deposit (undeveloped), processing of the extracted ore at Koolyanobbing, and road and rail transport between these operations and the Port of Esperance where the processed ore is exported to international customers.
Current and planned mining of the resource is by use of conventional drill and blast, haul truck and excavator open pit methods.
The Koolyanobbing Ore Reserves are comprised of three pit stages across three deposits F1, F2 and F3. As of the end of 2019, production fleet comprises 1x Hitachi EX2600 excavator and 4x 150t capacity dump trucks.
The Windarling mining operations are located in the Yilgarn region of Western Australia approximately 100 km north by road from the Koolyanobbing ore processing facility. The Windarling Ore Reserves are comprised of four pit stages across four deposits W1, W3, W7 and W10. As of the end of 2019, production fleet comprises 1x Hitachi EX1900 excavator and 3x 150t capacity dump trucks.
The Deception mining operations are located in the Yilgarn region of Western Australia approximately 122 km north by road from the Koolyanobbing ore processing facility. The Deception Ore Reserves are comprised of two pit stages across one deposit. As of the end of 2019, mine production fleet comprises 1x Hitachi EX3600 excavator and 4x 180t capacity dump trucks.
