Summary:

The project area is situated in the Usagaran of the Mozambique belt and consists of graphitic gneisses and schists interpreted to occur along the flanks of various anti- and synforms in the area with the lithological units dipping at between 15 and 50 degrees to the NW and SE.

Mining Methods

  • Truck & Shovel / Loader

Summary:

Weathered ore and waste will be excavated using a hydraulic shovel and loaded onto dump trucks for hauling out of the pit. Fresh ore and waste will be drilled and blasted before being loaded and hauled in a similar manner.
In order to achieve a high-gradefeed to the mill, three discrete ore streams are mined, a low-grade stream (0% to 10% TGC material), a medium grade stream (10% to 20% TGC material) and a high grade stream (+20% TGC ore). The low-grade material with a grade of around 6% TGC is stockpiled alongside the pit and not transported to the mill. This ore can be available for later treatment, blending or be sold to other parties.
