Gold mineralization and crystallization processes of ore-forming minerals in representative deposits of the North Khentei gold belt of Mongolia were investigated to characterize the ore genesis and its evolution. The gold mineralization in representative deposits occurs as two ore types: I) disseminated and stockwork ores; and II) auriferous quartz-vein ores. Type-I mineralization in the Boroo, Gatsuurt and Ulaanbulag deposits is composed of four distinct stages: (i) pyrite-I + arsenopyrite-I, (ii) pyrite-II + arsenopyrite-II, (iii) sphalerite + galena + chalcopyrite + tetrahedrite + bournonite + boulangerite + jamesonite + scheelite + alloclasite + native gold and (iv) native gold. The Ulaanbulag gold deposit is generally flat lying over 550 metres. Throughout the area, a series of mineralized zones occur up to 100 metres wide and typically average from 10 to 20 metres in thickness.
