The Minerva mine is an open-cut mine located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.Bowen Basin is represented by the Reids Dome beds, a unit of highly variable thickness and lithology. Distribution is restricted to the south-western part of the Bowen Basin, west and to the north and south of Lake Maraboon. In the southern Denison Trough coal seams in the Reids Dome beds can to reach up to 30 metres thick, but at considerable depth (~1200 metres).
