Summary:
The Minerva mine is an open-cut mine located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.
Bowen Basin is represented by the Reids Dome beds, a unit of highly variable thickness and lithology. Distribution is restricted to the south-western part of the Bowen Basin, west and to the north and south of Lake Maraboon. In the southern Denison Trough coal seams in the Reids Dome beds can to reach up to 30 metres thick, but at considerable depth (~1200 metres).
Summary:
Minerva is an open-cut coal mine located 45 km south of Emerald in Queensland that produces premium thermal coal and some pulverised coal injection coal that is used in steel production.
The mine exports its thermal and pulverised injection coal through Gladstone port to customers in Asia following a 400km rail journey.
