Summary:

(Translated from Spanish)
The San Andrés mining unit is located east of the department of La Libertad, within the so-called Pataz Batholith, an important granitic intrusive body of Carboniferous age (approximately 320 Ma). Within this geological setting, El Gigante Hill stands out, hosting a well-defined Andean-oriented fault system which, through alteration–mineralization processes, gave rise to the main veins of the district.

Mineralization at San Andrés is emplaced within a system of parallel faults filled in a “rosary-like” pattern, composed of white to hyaline quartz with pyritic to polymetallic sulfides, containing significant gold grades.

Among the main mineralized systems are important veins such as Esperanza Yanaracra, which were intensively mined since ancient times, starting from surface. Beneath these lie the Cabana–Cachaco, Daniela, and Capitán Garo systems, as well as other tensional veins with good mineralization such as Valeria – BB, among others.

A key characteristic of these veins is their persistence along strike and depth, with open zones reaching 2 to 3 m in width and zones of mineralogical pinching down to 15–30 cm. The average dip is 35° toward the NE.

Exploration activities combine diamond drilling with underground mine development, allowing for the replacement of mined reserves and the maintenance of a sustainable exploration rate, thus ensuring the future life of the mining operation.

Currently, mine operations are conducted between elevation 3,815 m and elevation 2,270 m, where the Daniela vein is being exploited.
