Condestable is an iron oxidecopper-gold (IOCG) deposit with two contiguous mines – Condestable and Raúl. The deposit is located in the Lower Cretaceous volcano-sedimentary belt on the central coast of Peru. Its lithology consists of complex sequences of andesitic flows, pyroclastic rocks, volcanic breccias, shales and calcareous horizons, which are affected by intrusives of dioritic and andesitic composition. The ore mineralization that occurs in mantos and breccias consists mainly of chalcopyrite (with associated gold and silver), along with pyrite, pyrrhotite, magnetite, and smaller quantities of bornite.
