Condestable complex comprises two contiguous mines, Condestable and Raúl, which were integrated in 2013. The Condestable complex is a typical iron-oxide–copper–gold (IOCG) deposit. The deposit lies within the Lower Cretaceous volcano-sedimentary belt on Peru’s central coast. Its lithology consists of complex sequences of andesitic flows, pyroclastic rocks, volcanic breccias, shales, and limestone horizons, all intruded by dioritic and andesitic bodies. Ore mineralization occurs as mantos and breccias and is composed mainly of chalcopyrite with associated gold and silver, together with pyrite, pyrrhotite, and magnetite, and lesser bornite.
