SnapshotThe Bougouni project is being developed in two stages. Stage 1 is a low capex operation based on a DMS processing route while Stage 2 will see the construction of a much bigger capacity flotation plant.

11 February 2025, Kodal Minerals announced that first spodumene concentrate has been produced at Bougouni Lithium Project. First production of spodumene concentrate was achieved during the commissioning phase of the full Stage 1 Dense Media Separation ("DMS") processing plant with the introduction of pegmatite ore into the processing circuit.

Summary:

The Bougouni Lithium Project is located in the Birimiyan region of West Africa. The region consists of metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks of Birimiyan age that are intruded by granitoids and spodumene-bearing pegmatite dikes and sills.

The Bougouni Lithium project has the following deposits: Soghol-Baule, Boumu and the unexplored deposits of Kola and Bougouni-Pivdenny.

Most of the assays for the drilling programme have been received since the period end and, as has previously been reported, have confirmed the continuity and depth extension of the core pegmatite veins that mark the extension of the Boumou prospect. The drilling programme has also highlighted a fault zone that may control an offset of the pegmatite zone and highlight further exploration opportunities.

The spodumene (lithium) pegmatite mineralisation at Goulamina occurs as two, well defined, broadly parallel and highly continuous dykes; the Main Zone and West Zone.
