SnapshotSurjagarh is an open-cast mechanized mine. Lloyds Metals is poised to become the first mine in India to have more than 100 electric vehicles.

The mine has been operating sporadically since April 2016. Since September 2021, the mine recommenced operations in full capacity.

Lloyds Metals and Energy has permission to mine up to 10 Mtpa of iron ore and is seeking environmental clearance to increase the capacity of the Surjagarh iron ore mines from 10 MTPA to 55 Mtpa (including Banded Hematite Quartzite).

The company plans to initially mine 26 MTPA of Hematite (Direct Sales Ore). Over time, production will ramp up to a capacity of 55 MTPA, incorporating up to 45 MT of Banded Hematite Quartzite (BHQ).

As beneficiation plants become operational, the company will transition from using Hematite DSO to beneficiated ore.

Lloyds Metals received the Environmental Clearance for expansion in June 2025.
