Blackstone Project exploration paused by Alberta government since April 2021.
In 2022, the Alberta Government announced that all coal exploration and development will be restricted across the Eastern Slopes in all four coal categories. As a result of this decision, all exploration and development on Blackstone has ceased.
Black Eagle Mining, a 100% subsidiary Valory Resources Inc, filed a statement of claim on January 24, 2023, with the Government of Alberta filing its statement of Defence on March 24, 2023. A case management judge has been appointed to oversee this and certain other related litigation against the Government of Alberta, which is expected to result in case management direction about how the actions against the Government of Alberta are to proceed. This matter is ongoing. |
