SnapshotZavalievsky is a long-established graphite operation, with its mine and processing facilities running since 1934. Strategically located near key markets, it benefits from strong customer relationships and a well-established supply chain, supported by excellent transport infrastructure.

On 14 October 2024 production was successfully restarted at Zavalievsky Graphite. During this campaign, ZG produced various graphite grades starting with high quality graphite ore via multi-shift operation.

The company is also exploring monetizing garnet, used in applications like water filtration and abrasive blasting. Zavalievsky has sampled garnet for a large customer, though current production capability is limited to less than 90% purity, while customers require higher than 95% purity. This issue is being addressed before further sampling.

Summary:

Two structural levels can be distinguished in the geological structure of the area: the lower one is composed of intensely dislocated crystalline rocks and their weathering products, and the upper one is represented by almost horizontally lying sedimentary cover rocks. The basement rocks originate from the Archean and Paleoproterozoic eras, while the sedimentary layers include Neogene and Quaternary formations.

Geology and Mineralisation Interpretation
The Zavalievsky Graphite Project is located on the flanks of the large Khashchevato - Zavalevskoy synclinal folded structure. The graphite mineralisation is confined to the Precambrian basement and is overlain by sedimentary cover of 10 to 45m thickness. Seven steeply dipping to vertical, graphite mineralised domains were interpreted using a nominal 2% total carbon grade. The interpreted mineralisation has an along-strike length of 2,120m, a width of 630m and extends to a depth of 215m.

Commodity Production

In April 2023, ZG Group started optimised production campaigns. The first production campaign began on 11 April 2023 and was completed on 17 May 2023. During this period 1,015 tonnes of graphite concentrate was produced at an average daily production rate of 52 tonnes. Later in the year, the ZG team successfully started the second production campaign and produced over 600 tonnes.
