Summary:
Mountain Laurel is an underground and surface mining complex located on approximately 38,200 acres in Logan County and Boone County, West Virginia. Underground mining operations at the Mountain Laurel mining complex extract High-vol B metallurgical coal and thermal coal from the Cedar Grove and Alma seams.
The complex currently consists of one underground mine operating a longwall and three continuous miner sections, a preparation plant and a loadout facility.
The Mountain Laurel mine ceased longwall operations in the fourth quarter of the 2019 year and is transitioning to dedicated continuous miner operations.

We process most of the coal through a 2,100-ton-per-hour preparation plant before shipping the coal to our customers via the CSX railroad.
